    New Passport Law
I am really confused with all the new laws that have been put into place regarding passports. I did some digging on the internet and ended up more confused than before. Do I or do I not need a passport if I live in the United States and am traveling to the United States or one of its territories. The stuff I am finding on the internet is conflicting. One website says I do not and the other says I do. It should be a pretty cut and dry answer right? Doesn't seem that way. If someone can give me a more definitive answer, I am looking to do some travel soon and need to know. Thanks.

A US passport will be needed when traveling by air back into the US from outside the US.

So you don't need one to travel from California to New York, or Alaska to Florida

But you will need one to come back into the US if you fly from Mexico

A passport is a good thing to have, easy to get if you travel much, you should consider getting one
