Tell daughter who her dad is?
I have a five year old daughter and I need to tell her the truth about who her dad is. I am married and my husband has been there from the beginning including the pregnancy, he has raised our daughter as his own. I am in contact with her biological father, and now need to tell her who he is, she does see him at her grandmothers house from time to time. I truly now am confused on how to do this. I think it is for her own benefit to know who he is. I also want to protect her feelings at the same time. I only hope she isn't too confused!!

Just talk to her about how she was "chosen" by her daddy that is with her every day, and how she has another daddy that can't be there, but helped make her before she was born.

Answer any of her questions honestly, but keep it at a level she can understand.

This should be something she just KNOWS, not a conversation you have to have with her to tell her. It should be something that is common knowledge (that she is adopted) and matter-of-fact.

Yes, other dad, your husband, special dad, and just let her ask, then as she grows older, she will know and ask for more info latter
