    My husband found out he had this daughter only 2yrs ago and he is now 8. how does he waive his rights to this little girl that has a family of her own

    He should really take reponsibility for her. You won't believe the effect not having you natural father around actually does to a child. I agree with bluerose a child is for life.

    You know.. it depends on WHY he wants to waive his rights.

    If he wants to waive his rights because the girl's mother wants her new husband to adopt... that's completely different than waiving your rights because you think it will get you out of child support.

    He can't of course waive his obligation to pay child support, unless the child has a new step parent who is wanting to adopt the child.

    There is no reason to actually give up rights, since if he does not want to visit, he just does not visit. So he does not use any rights, he can't be forced to visit
