So the title pretty much explains EVERYTHING. I'm 15 & I turn 16 in March. I've lived with my mom & dad my whole life until about a year and three months ago.. They got divorced in July of 2011, and my mom has had three boy friends since then and we've lived with two of them and we are currently living with one right now & I hate it.. I really want to become legally emancipated. Like I said, I turn 16 in march and it's November right now. So in march I will be able to get a full time job and all that jazz. How hard do you think it would be for me to become legally emancipated, or ad least move in with one of my friends? P.S. I'm pretty sure my moms boyfriend is addicted to meth because, right before we moved in with him my mom told me that he was smoking meth, and we haven't even lived there for an entire month! First, we need to know your general local as laws on emancipation vary.

Second, where emancipation is allowed you need to demonstrate that you can live entirely on your own. Support yourself, maintain a house by yourself. etc.

Is one of the friends you want to move in with your 20 year old boyfriend (mentioned in a post in this thread: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dating...ml#post2936316 ) ? This does explain a bit more about why your parents are supposedly Kay with you dating him. It also confirms my suspicion that you have been dating him since you were fourteen.

Where is your father in this mess and what is he doing to try to get you into more stable living arrangements?

These are just two questions that a court will ask. Just because your parents are divorced does not mean that your father doesn't have rights and won't be held accountable before a judge will let you live on your own.

Are you really stable enough to live on your own and take care of ALL of your own needs including clothing, transportation, housing, medical, etc. Make certain you are fully aware of just what being emancipated means. It isn't only choosing where you want to live.

On a compromise, would your parents consider letting one of your friend's parents foster you?

Here's the law for KY. Basically what I said, You have to prove you can care for yourself. The court then has to determine if emancipation is in your best interests.

Based on your posts here, I doubt if a court would approve.
