My carrier fy4anf030 Heat runs continuously as of today. The AC was working fine until the breaker blew. When I flipped it back on the heat came on and only stops when I flip the breaker back of, even when the thermostat is set to off or cool! I tried changing the thermostat but problem persisted. Sounds like a stuck relay of some kind but I though I would ask first just in case...

You may have a shorted thermostat wire between the furnace and stat, or a bad control board. Disconnect all thermostat wires from control board at furnace, and see what happens.

After opening the panel up it looks like 3 wires melted through against the heating element. It was the blue, purple and orange. I've tried to narrow down what was damaged but I'm stuck between the relay, Rectifier Control or something on the control board. The only way the blower stops is when the relay is disconnected so I'm leaning that way... Any ideas? Is there any way I can upload a pic here?

Oh, this is an electric furnace? Is it constantly putting out heat, or just blowing air nonstop? Not sure Ill be able to be of much help on this one(lots of wiring on these bad boys, too much to figure out through a computer, lol). I think you are on the right track though, bad relay, or possibly as simple as a bad sequencer. Just have to follow the wiring diagram and test components one at a time. Good luck.

Yes it is electric. It blows heat constantly when the unit has power. I'm sure something fused together when the wires grounded out, just not sure what yet... I'm not sure what controls the heat coming on...
