I need to know how to stop a garnishment on my business checking account that resulted in a judgement from a collection agency representing UPS united parcel service.

    Thanks

    Hello billy:

Wages are garnished. Bank accounts are attached, or frozen or levied upon. Unless your business is shielded from you (corporation), YOU are your business. If YOU have a judgment against you, then it's correctly applied.

If it's not, then ask the bank to see the document. It will tell you which court granted the judgment. You need to go back to that court, and argue your case there.

If you already HAD a chance to argue your case there, and you didn't, or you did and lost, and didn't file an appeal, then there's really nothing you can do now.

I believe having researched this in another post here that Florida does this a little backwards-- first they begin the garnishment, then they notify you of the particulars so you can take action, strange as that sounds. If I were you, I would be seeking the help of a local attorney, Billy. That might cost you a tidy sum but you'll have an expert helping you to work out a payment plan with your creditors that is far less painful than this is.

And I'm with excon-- one post with all the information is more productive.
