Dose he have to take the Dna test?
I'm 18 and I'm 4mnths pregnant I told my boyfriend that I was pregnant when I found out... thinking that he would be happy he wasn't... I found out that he's still with his ex girlfriend which is his sons mother!! So he's with her right now and he doesn't want her to find out my child is his because he was cheating on her so now he says he doesn't have to take a dna test and he's not! But he knows he's that father he just doesn't want to pay child support@!! Now isn't there a way I can make him take the dna test a friend of mine says that his girlfriend had the police pick him up and make him take it but they gave him a choice either take it now or keep coming back until you do take it! Is that true?.

Oh... he doesn't have to take the DNA test unless he tries to deny that he's the father to get out of child support.

THEN they'll MAKE him take the test, and he'll STILL have to pay child support.

    What a jerk.

Agreed! There's nothing that says he has to take it, however if he wants to wiggle his way out of payments he's going to have to prove the kids not biologically his.

Unfortunately, there's nothing that says he has to be a part of the child's life. Well, maybe not so unfortunately :) I wouldn't worry about letting his current girlfriend know directly, simply start proceedings and let her eventually discover through paperwork or bills that he's got another kid. You'll benefit most from that spiritually and financially.

    Good luck!

When you have the baby, put his name on the birth certificate as the father. I don't know where you live but there are local family services that will help you in your struggle for child support. This link should help you get started:

State Child Support Enforcement Web Sites

Legally, you can petition the courts to force him to get a DNA test. These child support networks should help guide you with that process.

    Good Luck! :)

I loved the answer that "he doesn't have to take the DNA test unless he doesn't want to pay the child support." How true... and it was the perfect way to state it.
I also agree that you don't have to tell the current girlfriend anything. She has nothing to do with this.
Just find a lawyer, start the proceedings and Good Luck. It is too bad that baby's father is such a jerk. I am afraid I have read that a lot of times on this board.
Let us know how it goes.

I don't know if the police can force him but I know judges can. Well the question to you is do you want SUPPORT help raising your child. Pampers and milk don't come cheap these days. What I advise you to do is:

1: When the baby is born give the child his last name and place him on the birth certificate.
2: Petition the court to have him take a DNA test once your able to move around and about.
3: Also explain to the court that he refuses to help support your child.
4: get some evidence like e-mail letters, taped conversations discussing the situation. Once you have him saying things about that you'll have him where you want him. Not to be spiteful. But some of these responses that you get can either help you or harm you. Your child's father can quit his job and you will end up with nothing or very little then what you expected. BECAREFUL

Once you have done all this I promise you.. things will go for the best for you and your child. GOOD LUCK
