95 civic keeps reving and now its overheating!
I have a 95 civic ex, the problem just started about two days ago. I started my car before I went to work like normal, it started up fine for about 5 minutes then the engine kept reving up and down, but not going higher than 2500 rpm. It would only do this until the car got warm enough then it would stop reving. Then just to day I noticed that my cars taking a little longer to heat up than normal and now it's starting to overheat. How do I fix these problems?

You might have two distinct problems going on here. Replacing the igniter might solve the erratic rpm problem. Don't drive the car until you figure out what's causing the overheating problem--you could warp the head and damage the valves. If you haven't been using distilled water, when you mix the antifreeze, you may have mineral buildup in the radiator. It may have to be rodded or replaced. Check also for a stuck thermostat.
