World population hit 7 billion today, time to celebrate?
United Nation Demographers chose today to mark the birth of the 7 billionth human living on Earth. Whether it is today or sometime in the near future, the fact that we added another billion human inhabitants within 12 years is remarkable.

From natural resource depletion to aging populations and social security, what does this all mean for the quality of life for wealthy nations like our own and the aging of our societies over time? What do you think?

    Hi Cliff,

I'm not really sure what it means to the implications are for the wealthy nations,

I am just wondering how many people the earth can sustain. I am also wondering what implications this has for the environment. At some stage in the future sustainability must become the dominant issue.

In world terms I think there is something like 2 people born every second.

    Tut
