    Ingrown hair?
About a year ago I started getting a Brazilian wax, but I noticed the more I waxed the more ingrown hairs I received. I noticed over time some of them turned into scars. I'm kind of embarrassed about them and I was wondering if anyone knew how to lighten scars or ultimately remove them without surgery??

Hi- there are a few things you can do to prevent the ingrowns and lighten the scarring you have from them. First of all, there is a product called "Tend Skin" that is a MIRACLE worker in regards to ingrowns on all parts of the body. It can be purchased at some beauty supplies, and obviously online. GREAT STUFF!! A must to use if you get ingrown hairs.
Also, exfoliating any waxed areas post waxing helps to slough off any dead skin that would otherwise prohibit the hair from exiting the skin. You can use a loofah, or rough washcloth, or similar item. As for the areas that already scarred, if you are picking you are only making it worse!! Hands off!! Darker skinne dwomen tend to scar more easily and darker so DO NOT PICK!! Tend Skin should help exfoliate skin and lessen scarring. Also, using body products made to exfoliate will help A LOT. Alpha Hydroxy acids, and lightening products made for facial skin should be delicate enough to use in the bikini area. But, do NOT get it into the vaginal area or you will face extreme irritation. It may be worth seeing if your dermatologist or facialist could use a mild peel or dermabrasion to help the scarring. Not quite sure if that is possible depending on the area, but it is worth asking about.
    Good Luck!
