My husband has had a cough for about a month, maybe more. He coughs when he breathes in deeply. Tonight he said his chest feels tight. He has produced a little phelgm, but Mucinex D did not help. As far as I know, he hasn't been exposed to anyone with bronchitis, only a common cold that we know of. He work outside a lot, and now with the weather, I'm more nervous. He doesn't have a great insurance plan, so if there's an OTC remedy you could recommend, that would be great!

It doesn't happen every day, only sometimes. It seems to get worse at night. Like I said though, I don't hear him every day. I don't know if it's an allergy or the weather or something else.

That is correct, you don't know, and we don't know, he needs perhaps chest x-ray, he needs perhaps to have his breathing measured. There is just so many things it could be. And many it matters catching them early enough
