I am wondering about my foot, I had stepped on a little piece of wood that went in deep. I finally took it out about two days after, but since yesterday the top of my foot has been red and swollen and it hurts.

What can it be?

You may have an infection which is causing the redness and the swelling. See a doctor to get antibiotics to help you. If left with no treatment you may experience blood poisoning problems or a severely infected foot. Hard to tell without any tests or actually seeing the wound.

What kind of piece of wood was it and why did you take so long to remove it?

I don't know actually, but it was stuck inside, couldn't pull it out. It was a thick little piece of dry wood. I don't have any way to get to a doctor.

You need to see a doctor. You say you have no way, I don't see how that is possible... find a way. Is it worth possibly losing your foot or dying? Who knows for sure what could be wrong but if it is or gets infected, you're not going to cure it yourself... and nothing good is going to come from that.
