I got caught for the first time shoplifting at Walmart for 50.00 dollars of makeup. What should I expect in court?

Depends on where you live.

IT helps if you have an attorney, if you have no previous criminal record, you may be allowed a first offender program or something with another name. But it would allow you to pay the fine ( my guess around 400 to 500 dollars) and do perhaps some community service and a time of probation.
If you do this then they drop the charges and there is no formal record in public records check.

If you have a prior record it differs with even a chance for a short jail time to teach you a lesson.

You may also get a demand for payment from Walmart for civil penaity, of 300 or so dollars to pay for their time and trouble.
