    Drain Pipe for washing machine
My drainage pipe for my washer is about 6.5 feet from the floor. My old washing machine was set up on a wooden platform in order to drain. Do I still need this wooden platform in order to drain a new washing machine?

No! Most new washers have more powerful pumps that will pump a 8 foot head. Why is your stand pipe so elevated? Good luck, Tom

Code where I am calls for stand pipe to be 42" off floor. It is probably so high because of platform, but if platform is so high how do you reach washer? As Tom says new washers have more powerful pumps and will work with lower stand pipe.

LOL there are steps up to platform. Platform there when I bought the house 22 years ago. The pipe is 66inches from the floor not 6.5 ft
