I am and have been taking care of a 16 yr old after her adopted parents kicked her out now she's pregnant and the adopted father won't sign over rights although she on my des case w/ins. And I've been her caregiver since end of July.so I have no rights to her and she's caring my grandchild,I need to get him to sign over.her 18 yr old sister is going to try and take her under her care from him cause he has touched them inaproperly and the adopted mother has smacked them around so their scared of them,I need to get papers for the 16 yr old somehow?

It sounds like you already relinquished your rights for the adoption to take place. If that is so then you have nothing to file. You no longer have a legal standing to the child. Just the fact that they are living with you could be inviting trouble. Im not clear on the part about her bieng on your insurance. It doesn't make sense. The sister (18y/o) may not be able to take custody either depending on the state you live in as some states have a minimum age for adoption and/or custody.

I assume this is what califdadof3 was puzzled about. I too am confused. Please don't use abbreviations unless everyone knows what they mean. We don't.

I am not looking for child support from her adopted father by any means, I'm just tired of not having a say in how she's raised since I'm providing the care. Her mother doesn't even have a green card, one daughter already ran away due to the abuse, and there are two left, I'm caring for the oldest.

Her adopted father even called and said that I can have responsibility of her, but not legally. There is a monetary reason why he won't sign her to me, I know they were getting money for adopting the 3 girls, and he kept calling telling the 16 yr old, complaining about not getting any more money,(he plays mind games with her).

I don't get it myself, I just want a little say in her upbringing since I'm pretty much raising her in my home. Thank you.

I have the same questions everyone else has but if the adoptions went through all the hoops and hurdles of the Court system "these people" ARE the parents. "Adoptive" parents is interesting wording but means nothing.

Child abandonement sounds like the best route.Im wondering if Arizona has that law and if so how to go about pressing it and is there anything he can do in return ,like try to take her back even though he doesn't want her and hasn't contributed any means of support and I'm not asking him too.Just want to find a way to get him to sign her over.And another problem I'm wondering about is the adopted mother doesn't have a green card ,is there anything I can do about that,cause its not right she beats them and also isn't even legally suppose to be here! Thank You

Abandonment sounds like the best route for what? If you read the sticky, you should have known that abandonment is rarely the route for anything.

What law are you asking about? Who are you asking about? What adopted mother? Please explain so we can try to help.
