I replaced a 4 wire 3 speed ceiling fan pullchain control switch. Lights are powered by wall switch.So I did what it said, as I took out the wire from old switch, put it into the same location on the new switch. One at a time carefully. Those switches are cheaply made. Well everything seemed fine except that the fan doesn't shut off.I put L in last, that was the power leg. Fan shut off before but chain got pulled out so had to replace. While slipping bare wire ends into switch, they slip in could I have bent one of those bands and now permanently on or just a bad switch. They both had the same markings, new switch is for3 or 4 wire installation.
