I'm from western NY (say hi to my mom!) and suggest you cover her crate (metal? Plastic?) with a quilt or blanket so her body heat will stay inside the crate. Does she have a blanket or soft pad to sleep on?
Thanks for answering my question, Wondergirl. Covering the crate with the blanket is a great idea. Yes, she has her favorite blanket that she lays on and also the bottom of the crate is lined with a towel. She also wears a little fleece jacket at night. My mini-schnauzer sleeps with me but I'm afraid to bring Happy (shih tzu) into my bed for fear she will get squished because she weighs only 8 pounds. I will try your suggestion tonight!
Also, put the crate in a place where there aren't any drafts across the floor, maybe near doorways, or next to patio doors or windows that may leak cold air.
