My furnace will not continue to work once the desired temp is reached. Normally when the temp drops below the programed temp the unit powers on and sends heat through out my home. Problem I'm having is you can hear the pilot ignitor clicking but it does not glow to light the pilot light, after a few times of trying to light up it just stops doing anything. But if I reset the electric
Pilot system some times it will light and start up and send heat until the programed temp is reached then it shuts down and will not relight on it's own. Does this mean the pilot ignitor is gone?

On some of these you have a rod that senses the flame by a current through the flame. If this rod is dirty from carbon it will not sense as it should. Take some 1000 grit sandpaper and clean it off and polish it up and it should work again. If you have a thermocouple you may need to replace it, but most electronics use the above sensor. You may want to vacuum out the fire chamber, too, and remove the dirt. DrTom4444
