Do I need to replace the whole ceiling fan when the fan won't work?
I have a Harbor Breeze indoor/outdoor ceiling fan under my covered porch out back. The lights are working but the fan is not. Can it be repaired or do I need to replace the whole thing?

Well, sometimes the problem is the capacitor inside the fan or the motor.

That said, I would look at the costs involved in the repair (parts + labor) vs. the cost of a new fan + installation.

Normally, I just replace the unit. Now is a great time to find decent prices on fans as the season has ended and most places are looking to dump inventory.
