How do I get a birth certificate without id?
My sons friend is living with us, but he has no ID, or a birth certificate. Can I go to The department of Vital records and get one for him? He's 18.But no family support to help him..

No. But he could. He would have to check with the department as to what he needs to prove his identity to them.

Most states allow for ordering a birth certificate online.

Proof of identity still must be shown, otherwise this would be an ID theft circus. ;)

I ordered my daughter's BC online, but proof of paternity had to be provided prior to them sending the document.

When I last got a copy of mine, there were a number of questions asked, but I don't remember submitting any documentation.
