My name is on the mortgage not the deed?
If a person is just on the mortgage and not on the deed is the house of any claim to them?

If your name is not on the deed then you don't have any claim of ownership of the property. Having your name on the mortgage doesn't give you any right of ownership.

Thank you very much for answering so quickly. Is this true in all states?

Yes, this is true everywhere in the US. If your name is not on the deed then you don't have a claim of ownership.

Agree, if your name is on the loan ( mortgage) you are obligated to pay the loan if the other person does not. But it does not give you any ownership to the home, It would not be a very good thing to obligate yourself to a home if you are not on the deed.
