My son is 2 years old, I just started receiving child support...
My son is 2 years old. I just started receiving child support recently, the father hasn't been a part of my sons life until now. He is very untrustworthy and he wants to get my baby for the weekends? We were never married, But I was with him for 3 years and know how he is. He can't even have a civilized conversation with me. I don't know what to do... What chances do I have of getting him supervised visitation? I don't want to keep him from our son, I just want what's best for my little boy. I want him to be safe.. ANY suggestions?

I guess you don't have any visitation orders in place now from the court, if not, then you need to do this. He can't just come and visit, you just can't let him without a court order.

Hey yeah I haven't let him see him yet, I mean he hasn't wanted to... But I don't know if I should take him to court or what? I don't want the judge to give him weekends because I know how he is. We were never married so there was no "custody battle."

Not being married has nothing to do with it, and yes there is a custody battle, the child's father has full right to even ask for custody, ask at least for joint custody ( share the child 1/2 of the time) and at a very min get every other weekends and a day during the week.

So yes, unless you can prove he is a threat to the child, a danger, he is going to get over night visits and he can file in court for them. If you have refused him fair normal visits, he can use that in court against you.

I would hope the "child support" is also though court.

Since you haven't mentioned that he is a danger to the child. Going by what has been said he most likely will get weekends and other days to start with.

He has a huge criminal record. Including drugs etc. I'm pretty sure that's a threat to my little boy. He doesn't even have a stable home. I want my son to know him, I just want supervised for right now until he gets his life together and grows up. Is that possible?

Is it possible? Maybe, that is up to the judge and how good a defense he does, and how good a case you make.

You say, he has a criminal record
He ways, well she was with me when I was dong the drugs and things, she should know. ( he makes you sounds as bad as him)
He will say, yes judge I did some bad things in the past, but I have paid my due to society, I have stopped using drugs and have found religion ( they always find religion before court)

But often you may have to show he has not changed.

Stable home, does he have a home, even a pay here weekly extended stay is a home, and children go to them every week to visit a parent, or even stay all week with their parents if that is home.

If he is homeless, you may stop visits over night.

If he does not show up to fight for any rights, or does not hire an attorney,
If you hire one, you have a better chance.
