Someone hacked in to my e-mail and Facebook account, now they are harassing me
Who ever this is has made it a point to threaten me by using the information he found in my account against me.
What can I do to stop this person? One e-mail I received from this person had the ip address (10.227.18x.xx), another email had a different one ( 10.68.3x.x)
Is the anything I can do to know the identity or location of this person? Is what they are doing illegal and what steps could anyone recommend I take to get my accounts back if I have already tried to recover my accounts through the account recovery pages with no luck ?

I would really appreciate any help I can get.

No you can't tell who it is. Have you tried changing your passwords? If you can't get cotrol of your accounts back, that way, then you need to contact Facebook and your e-mail provider.

If this person is threatening you report it to the police.

I have no idea what they would have found, to threaten you about, but report this to the police.

Contact your email provider and Facebook directly to inform them someone has stolen your account

Thank you, yes I was wondering if I could ask the police for help, I may be forced to try that.
I have tried contacting g-mail about my account but the web page with the security options does not allow me to get the help I'm looking for... any suggestions on that?

Thank you so much for the quick reply..

This is the info I was able to get from the email when I clicked "show original"... can I do anything with this to identify this person?

    (((10.68.36.5 with SMTP id m5mr20044217pbj.53.1319497081656)))

The other email had a different ip 10.227.181.xx

Is this information important or irrelevant if I want to contact the police about the harassment ?

I said, no, first those are private IPs, so that may not be unique. It just means that someone is sending them from a company account, but you can't even identify the company.

The info in the headers MIGHT be helpful to computer forensics specialists, so do bring them to the police. The police may or may not help, depending on the nature of the harassment, but its worth bringing them the problem.

You can try contacting Google at their corporate HQ to get a place to help.
