    Probation and Simple Possession
Hey my friend that is 16 was on PTI for controlled substance, percocets and klonopins. He then got a charge of simple possession for marijuana so had to go back to court for Controlled Substance and was sentence to 1 year of probation, JDS drug classes, and 40 hours of community service. He has passed every drug class clean, not viloated probation, and done 10 hours of community service and has been on probation for 4 months. He has a court date for the simple possession charge of marijuana in the next month what do you think his sentence will be?
    Thanks

More probation, tighter drug testing and more community service

Okay, well someone mentioned that he is actually to young to even be doing that many hours of community service am I right and should he contact his PO about this? He went to court for the simple possession charge 2 weeks ago, but they dismissed the case because the attorney wanted to look further into considering they were wanting to put him into rehab.

To young,? 40 hours of community service is nothing, about 5 saturdays at the local shelter, or perhas 3 weekends washing police cars.

They can even get a boot camp where they go away for 5 or 6 weeks of intense training.

Next I doubt if they "dismissed" the case for an attorney wanting to look into something, they may have posponed it. If the attorney agreed to put him into rehab, they may have suspended the sentence to be dropped when he finished rehab

Okay thanks for the information. His guidance counselor at school mentioned the hours of community service saying that "40 hours at the age of 17+ is the legal limit" But I wanted your input. So you feel that the attorney just postponed it? I don't really agree considering most appointed attorneys go in not caring and get the case done and over with considering they have many to do in that period.
