    Filing status for state
My wife and I both work in NJ and have no kids. We got married at the beginning of the year and moved to Pennsylvania (rent), however because of work I kept my apartment in NJ ( I spend most of my weekdays there) and all of my documents in NJ. She changed everything to PA. How should we go about filing our returns. I know federally it doesn't matter where we live, but I think in NJ if you file your federal return jointly you have to file your state one jointly as well. Help, so confused. Should I not even bother with PA's return since I don't really consider it my "home." And what should my wife do. Thanks

If you married in 2007, then for your 2006 income tax returns, you both must file as SINGLE.

When EXACTLY did you move to PA?
