    Circuits in a panelboard.
How many circuits are allowed in a panel?

You need to be a lot more specific than that. They come in all different sizes.

    Greetings,

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you have a circuit breaker panel installed or are you trying to size a new panelboard?

Panel Boards come in many flavors.

You need to know the incoming amperage, the number of spaces available on the panelboard and the Number of circuits.

For example, you may pick up a 200 Amp panelboard with 30 spaces/ 40 circuits.

Used to be 42 max. Now it is 80 I believe.
Depends on the code cycle you are under.

Considering the vagueness of the original question that is best answer I can come up with.
