Hello, Could someone please tell me what a one dollar confederate bill dated 1862 is worth today? Thank you for your time.
It is from Austin, TX - numbers at upper left hand corner are 112586 and there is a circular stamp towards the left side (in between the picture of Washington & the words FIVE DOLLARS, it looks like the signature at the bottom has a last name of Johnson (or Johnston?) Not sure what the original color was, but this is light brown looking color and the weight is a bit heavier than today's paper currency. There are one or two small rips at top & on one side. The ink looks black and there is a patterned background (so to speak). Sorry - tried my best to describe it, the writings (script & signatures) are hard to make out.
