My whirlpool dryer stopped working after 18 months. Turns out it was a fuse. Now when the timer is on and it is not running the heat won't shut off. I can't figure out why. I can't afford the extended warranty they offer and that is another problem. They don't stand behind their products anymore, they instead hide behind warranties! I guess quality products are a thing of the past.

The only thing you can do is to trace out the wiring with a meter to find the bad switch. It should be easy, just unplug it and ohm from the plug to the heat strip and work back until you find the bad switch to replace. DrTom4444
