    Well pressure switch?
My pressure switch keeps turning on and off even though there is no water been run or turned on in the house.
I have checked for running water in the toilets, outside taps, etc. There seems to be on signs of running water.
I also turned the water valve off that shuts the water from coming in to the house, and the pressure switch remained at 50 psi.

Did you turn off the valve to the house and then shut the pump down to see if the pressure gage lost pressure? Back to you, Tom

That's good advice. SB suspects a leak in the well, I would imagine.

Is your pump above ground or in the well? Either way, is there a checkvalve near the pressure tank?

This one puzzled me a bit. I wondered how I managed to not suggest he look at the flapper valve. Then I noticed that he had mentioned he could cut the valve off to the house and the pressure would hold. Don't quite see how I missed that, but I did. It obviously pointed to a problem in the house, not in the well. Oh "well". Just missed that one. Glad he got it resolved in spite of my misdirections.

Hi jlisenbe, My first post took it away from the pump but I was thinking a leak in the line to the house. My next question would have been to shut the house shut off to check the house supply. If the gage would have held that would have put the problem in the house but I was thinking hidden leak. I would have missed the flapper also.
Oh well! Live and learn. Tom
