    Sub Woofer Box
    Hey there peoples,

I have a 12 inch 600 Watt sub in a fully enclosed generic sub box. I recently added a six inch mid range and a 6 inch speaker to the same box with no separation (all three speakers share the same volume) I have a large enough amp powering the speakers but the sub isn't performing to satisfactory standards. I was wondering if this was due to having no port holes? (even though I'm not too sure what a port hole is) or that all three speakers shouldn't be occupying the same box?

    Does anybody know?

There should be no acoustic coupling between the woofer and the other speakers (i.e. they must not share the same volume, as you said).
BTW - you did use a cross-over filter, didn't you? Or did you connect the speakers to separate amps?
Also, did you mind the phase when connecting the speakers?

Yeah the speakers are hooked up to separate amps. But no, I didn't take note of the phase... this may be the problem (along with the coupling). Thanks heaps for the advice!
