This is how is Mahatma Gandhi written in Sanskrit, i.e. in devanagri script! As many people are asking for their names to be written in Sanskrit, I presume it is in vogue to do so in USA and Europe. Even as some orthodox people prefer to write in Sanskrit as महात्मा गन्धि, the modern trend is to write just like Hindi. Still, both the versions are given.
