How can I strip this horrible red color from my hair?
(I added pictures of what my hair looked like before - in the last picture I am the girl on the left.)
Before I start, absolutely any help would be revered. I am in quite a pickle.
My hair was light brown with natural blond streaks. Today, I had the not-so-brilliant idea of dying it "Medium Auburn Brown", by Garnier HerbaShine, # 565. Instead of producing a reddish tint as I had hoped, it is now ketchup red on top and a gross, dark mahogany on the bottom.
The box says the color should last for 28 washes (I'm a runner who washes her hair every day, so that's less than a month). But I have 2 burning questions:
    1) Will my hair ever return to its previous state? I really miss it.
    2) What can I do to rid this horrifying color from my hair... And fast?
Again, any help would be fantastic. Thank you in advance.

You can't change this by using any kind of product other than a hair stripper which will take out all hair color. You don't want to do this as your normal color will never return unless it grows out. You need to be patient and wait until this unwanted color fades out naturally. It will take a month at the very least to have this fade out. Be patient. Next time don't be so quick to want a different hair color.

P.S. Your hair looks just fine to me.

Thank you! I would have bought the Color Oops dye removing product, but after reading your review along with those of many other disappointed users I refrained from doing anything to it at all. After a few days, the deep mahogany hue has disappeared, and now I have a kind of maroon-y scarlet: completely unexpected, but I LOVE it! Somehow it has managed to look natural-ish, too. Again, thanks for saving me from so much hair damage!
