Transitioning Independent Contractors to Employees?
We are a small company that is considering creating employee positions for the work our independent contractors now do. This question is not so much about the nature of the work - as we already have outlined the changes needing to be made in the actual job to categorize them into employees. The question I have is, as far as debating this business decision, what factors do we need to comprehensively consider? Advantages vs. Disadvantages of adding them as employees. Obviously, we will pay their taxes, SS, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I know it's often businesses wanting to move the other way, but we are looking at the advantages of showing employees on payroll, etc.
