The father of my child recently told me he wants to be legitimized. We already have had the blood test done proving that he is the father.What is the difference between the paternity test and legitimizing. I'm not sure I want my daughter to have his last name and, although we are are civil terms, I still do not trust him completely and am worried this is a way for him to try to take her from me. I don't know what to say or do. Please help.

Where is this? In general YOU get to choose the name on the birth certificate. He can only take her away from you (get total custody) IF you are somehow unfit or a danger to the child.

Is there an Order for child support and custody/visitation?

The name on the birth certificate does not matter when it comes to custody/visitation. YOU get to pick the name.
