Going above the head probation officer in this county
I recently transferred my probation back to North Carolina under false pretenses. My children insisted they wanted to move back near their father. I honored that thinking; it was the best thing for my children. However, they are worse off here then they were in Maine, and I really want to transfer back, but the probation officer here in the county I'm in says that I can't do another transfer. He refuses.

Is there any other way I could go about getting it, so I can go back to Maine to my fiancé and rest of my family? I would greatly appreciate the help, if anyone has any ideas.

Have you had your attorney present a formal request for a change.

No I don't have an attorney anymore... I am new to the whole legal system and how it works. I just want to go back to my family as I don't have anyone here. My kids have family here but nobody bothers with any of them.

Well I went to the head probation officer over everyone in this state and he had a meeting with the 2 probation officers in this county this week. I still have not heard anything back although he told me I would hear something either yesterday afternoon or this morning but I did find out he contacted the probation officer I had in Maine. I am hoping this is a good sign. I also presented the fact that I have some new medical issues with myself and need the help from my family with my children and they are all located in Maine not here. Does anyone know if it is a good sign that they contacted my PO in Maine already? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello b:

Sounds like you're way ahead of the game... That CAN'T refuse you now. It really isn't a matter of them being nice people or not... It's a matter of you meeting the criteria the law requires, and if you do, they CAN'T refuse you.

So do you think that means they are going to let me return back to my fiancé and family?

Thank you I sure hope so I would love to be home before the holidays. I even already have a job lined up there so I won't have to be out of work at all.
