    Car smoking white smoke from the hood?
    Also the smoke is coming from behind the engine it self and my car is not running hot its just smoking it's a 99 alero oldsmobile

    Is it steam?? Usually a white "smoke" is steam which points to some kind of water leak somewhere.

    I agree with above take it to a shop and have them look at it because you need the radiator pressure test in order to find a leak.

    Sounds by description like a leaking intake manifold gasket. GM was notorious by using plastic gaskets which in a few years become brittle and fail. Check the antifreeze regularly if driving. But if the problem goes unfixed the leak will no doubt get worse and start getting into your cylinders, fouling out spark plugs, rusting cylinder walls etc.
