I have an 18HP Vanguard on my DR Wood Chipper. I started it once and did some chipping but it would not start a few hours later. I decided to change the plugs and fuel filter [air filter was fine]. Still the engine will not start. I removed the air filter and sprayed some starting fluid in the carb. It would start but only run for a couple of seconds. Any suggestions would be appreciated. - Jim

Check the solenoid on the bottom of carb .

Thanks DG - Can you be more specific? What should I look for?

There will be a gold or silver thing screwing into the bottom of the carb .it should have one or mabe two wires coming to it.turn on unit
Tap on this lightly .and see if it will start.
