See signature pic

This is definiely a fine piece even viewing it on the internet, but unfortunately there are quite a few artists called Armstrong, both old and new. Of course if there was an initial in front of the name it would be easier to answer your question. Is there anything on the back of the canvas that could help us with this?

The most recent well known artist to paint seascape, sandscapes and lighthouses included, is Chris Armstrong. I have see his signature and is nothing like this.

This is my area of expertise, but unfortunately not enough to go on here.
