Taking Fertomid and now 10 days late!
I'm usually very irregular, but last month my GP gave me Fertomid to use when my period starts, so I used it. My period hasn't come yet as it was suppose to, so now I'm not sure if it is my irregular pattern again or if I'm pregnant. I really do hope that I'm pregnant because me and my husband have been trying for a year now.

Did your GP test to determine whether you are ovulating even with irregular cycles? Until your cycles are regulated you will have difficulty knowing whether the lack of a period is due to success with the Fertomid or a continuation of irregular cycles.

You may just need to stock up on some inexpensive pregnancy tests and test periodically. Your GP should be monitoring how your body responds to the Fertomid as sometimes a change in dosage is required at some point to achieve the desired effects.

    Thank you.

He hasn't tested me on anything yet, I just explained to him my history of irregular periods, so he suggested that I take Fertomid. The first time was last month, and I haven't been on any birth control for a year now. I'm really frustrated at this point, and my home pregnancy test came out (-) :(

Did he explain when and how to use it properly? Are you scheduled to go back for some blood work to determine if it is effective at helping you to ovulate? I can understand your frustration!

Your GP really should have done some initial fertility testing for both you and your husband. It helps to get your cycles regulated first.

Are you trying ovulation detection tests as well? That may help as well to see if you start to notice a change on those while using the Fertomid.

I would speak to your GP about whether he suggests any monitoring while you are using the Fertomid. Otherwise you will probably want to try a pregnancy test whenever you don't have a period as expected as it is best to stop the Fertomid once you become pregnant.

Yes, he did explain to me how it works. It was only for 5 days, didn't use it continuously, haven't done any blood tests, will be making an appointment next week. Haven't tried ovulation detection tests yet. Husband did go for fertility testing, and everything is normal. I'm beginning to think I'm the problem!! :(

I'll let you know what the outcome is when I see him next week. Thank you for all your help!
