I just did avast scan and it found 200 infections which I deleted all of them even
After deleting all of them includind the ones found in windows systems the computer worked OK but I could not connect to the internet at all. I clicked on mozilla and it says connection not found. It keeps saying this repeatedly when I reopen the moxilla browser. I called internet help for my company and he said a network connection driver might have been deleted, so I looked under hp.com for my computer called 2004 hp a530n and found ten drivers from original all the way to sound. The guy said only get the network connections device but when I look I can not find anyone called network driver for the internet. I downloaded 9 of 10 of them and ran and installed all of them but I still get the same problem. The device is nvidia date 4/17/2003 version 3.3.9.0 nforce mcp networking controller.. I have three potential connections under network connections. The first is 1394 connection (useing 1994 net adapter)which is connected and firewalled, the third is local area connection 3 which is connected and firewalled(uses Microsoft loopback adapter) and the local area connection is saying little or no connectivity and this is the nvidia nforce mcp networking controller. This is the only one of the three that is not responding by saying is is connected. Then I called the guy and did as he said , I downloaded nvidea controller but it is 5.1, and then 6.05 because there is nowhere on the internet the original driver. I guess it became outdated. I installed the 5.1 and then the 6.05. It showed a full screen installation. Then I went back to windows network connections and under model number it still says 3.3.9 so it doesn't seem that it was installed with a new driver. Then the internet service guy had me check the ipconfig and there is no dns default gateway meaning there is no connection on the internet. Both dns gateways have disappeared, there are no numbers listed.
What do I do? Now themozilla doesn't respond when I double click it.

Have you thought about re-installing windows? Or even trying Linux as another OS? Ubuntu is free, you would not have to worry about viruses, malware, adware, etc and it also uses Firefox browser. You can burn the ISO to a disc (on a computer that is hooked to the net) then put it on any computer. You will find it pretty user friendly, faster & far safer, imo. People also partition their hard-drives, keeping a part for windows for gaming, etc.

If you have IE on your system try that. Then allow it to go into diagnostics mode. It can auto repair most connections.

I just had to reinstall windows completely to get everything functioning properly. I thought avast is a free software that you can use all the time. I might try ubuntu since it seems there is more coverage overall against things on the internet. I also had the hard drive partitioned so it is no longer just one big drive.
It finally works the way it was meant to but everything had to be reinstalled over again.
