    Sewer Smell
Our house is 50 yrs. Old and we have a sewer smell whenever we use the washer or dishwasher. We replaced the dishwasher and the garbage disposal. We had the drain hose on the dishwasher tied up high so water wouldn't drain back in the dishwasher, which it was. On days that we use the washer and dishwasher heavily, the smell comes and stays for days. Also, when you run the water in the sink (with garbage disposal), I hear bubbles when the water is draining.

We've had plumbers out and they changed the vent under the sink. It didn't help. Any suggestions??

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Those "bubbles" that you hear are sewer gas and that's also what you smell.
Bubbles in a drainage system are caused by a partial blockage. What happens id that a toilet flushes or a fixture drains. The discharge hits a partial clog and bounces back sending bubble of sewer gas ahead of it. Your plumbers were focusing on the vents when they should have concentrated on the drains. Good luck, Tom
