I dated this guy who I believe was my soul mate. At the time we were dating, I was a single mom to a toddler. Which was the reason he ended the relationship. He then contacted me about 10 years later and said that he had been a jerk, that what he did was wrong and felt that I had been put into his life earlier as a blessing but that he didn't realize that until later.
He wanted to start a relationship again but I of course reminded him that I was still a mother and he was fine with that. Unfortunately, I had already been seeing someone else and it was getting serious. I let the soul mate know but he believed we belonged together.
So I saw him a few times and it was like no time had passed, the feelings and such were like we never had been apart. I chose to stay in the relationship with the new guy, even though my heart and soul wanted to do the opposite. I think I was afraid of the past repeating itself. Have to say, even though I told the soul mate my decision, he would call or show up at my work for several months after.
I ended up moving in with the chosen one and things were great, eventually led to marriage. I changed jobs but heard that he had called and came by. My marriage eventually ended but my soul mate was always in the back of my mind. Did I make the wrong choice?
I would like to be able to contact him but can't track him down so easily. Who knows maybe he settled down also. So I guess the questions I'm looking for are: should I try to find him and if so, how do I go about it? Also, is it just too late and I should just remember him fondly?
I can't lie, my heart and soul still ache for him to this day. Any comments and suggestions?
