I had a child support case in wi in one county and they told me because I collect ssi that they couldn't order child support but in the county I live in they ordered me and even threw me in jail because I wasn't paying but I collect ssi and can't work so I'm in a catch 22 and could use some help is their a law or not in wi

Were you ordered to pay ongoing support or was this about back support? When you began to receive benefits did you advise the Court and get the Order changed?

Both parents are responsible for financially supporting the child. SSI does NOT take that responsibility away from you.

So go back to Court - again - and PROVE you are ordered to pay more than you receive.
