Ok, so it is an old-ish movie, I saw it when I was younger. It is about this Indian girl and she meets this blond american girl who lives in a poor family, her mother leaves her and she is invited to stay with the Indian chick.The Indian girl and the blond one, they are good friends until one point when the blond one gets a boyfriend and they start fighting and they don't talk anymore. Later the Indian girl goes to university I think and she makes peace with the blond one and gives her a letter, but the blond doesn't know how to read and I don't remember much of this movie... Some other details are: there are some Indian family friends of the Indian girl and there are some twin girls there that are kind of dumb; there is also a scene where the blond one eats with the Indian girl's family and they eat with their hands and she learns it is not disgusting to eat with your hands.
