My lower legs have darkened skin (I am otherwise very fair and have diabetes II). The dark skin occurred when I had a severe water retension episode about 3 years ago. The Doctor put me on a diuretic and iron tablets (both Rx). I do not know if these things are connected. All I know for sure is that since that episode my lower legs have remained dark - a grey dark.

I never knew glutathione was a skin lightener. I will begin taking it soon. I also wondered if I could add glutathione to a moisturizing crème to lighten that dark skin.

Another thing I wonder about is if stomach acids destroy some of the glutathione, why not enteric coated to bypass that problem. I take another supplement that is enteric coated and it has worked wonders on my diabetic neuropathy.
