Cheating for better or for worst?
Not sure if I saw it on a movie/tv show or if someone was speaking from real life experience... But they cheated and claimed it drew them closer to their significant other! My common sense tells me that's impossible, that living a double life would have to be stressful... But the curiosity side of me thinks it may hold some truth! I ran into an high school sweetheart we had good times together (in the sack over 10 yrs ago) and now he seems more interested then before and I am as well. I've been in an committed relationship for about 5/6 years. We have had some ups and downs, I want to end it sometimes and other I'm happy with it but lately I've been bored (sexually and romantically) and I am so tempted to cheat! I even tell my partner and the response I get is "go ahead if that's what you want to do"(this person doesn't express their feels often) Please don't judge me! Any advice

I completely understand you, you are not technically cheating. But if you feel that the old boyfriend would be a better fit for you and your future, then I would say to go with him, but then again, you don't want too throw away a good 5/6 year relationship you know? Do you think you are sexually and romantically bored with your partner right now just because the ex came back into the picture, so you might be looking for reasons just to get back with the old lover?

Resolve your relationship issues so you know if you should go or stay, before you get involved in another person. That would be my advice, and then you don't have to cheat. If you stay, cut contact with the blast from the past love, and give the relationship the efforts it deserves without distractions.

Cheating can never make a relationship better. If you don't love the guy you are with anymore then tell him. Tell him what you feel about your relationship.

All relationships have ups and downs, and I too sometimes think about cheating during those downtimes but I always remind myself that one thing that will be lost if I act on my desire will be trust. Not just my partner's trust but also my trust on my partner. Trust for me is just like a vase, if you break it, the there is no way that you can put back together seamlessly.
