I have a plumber doing a job under the crawl space area. He said that he will use copper pipes but not in area which are hard to get to. There he will use "pegs". I understand these are flexible pipings but not copper. Is that right?
There is a reason why we use copper piping and I fear now that using these pegs is not the same quality and reliability than copper. Can anyone tell us if this is a concern?

The name is "PEX" and it is a flexible plastic tubing. Your plumber wants to get around corners and tight spots be using Pex. I can tell you this. Plastic will outlast copper. I'm surprised he didn't run the entire job in Pex.

As Tom says, I would have him do the whole job with pex pipe, besides it being a good piping system, it is a big labor saver.
