I have 32" Phillips flat screen TV. The problem is that images on the extreme left and right of the screen seem to be running off the edge of the screen. For example watching Gillette Soccer Saturday with Jeff Stelling the results updates which appear on the right hand side of the screen are only partly visible.

Check your aspect ratio settings. There will be a button on the remote of your TV and/or cable/satellite box labeled something like one of the following:
Zoom, Aspect, 16:9, Wide, Stretch, Format, etc.

Usually if you keep tapping that button it will change the shape of the picture.
