Do you get your merchandise for the price it is marked in nys ?
I bought three items at walmart and when I checked the price of them they were 11.78 ! I thought that was great so I also had a cashier price check and that is what came up. So I went and finished my shopping when I went to cash out they were ringing in at 22.88 I told them what I had done and the shelf price also but they refused to give that item to me for that price!I know in Canada they have a code of practice do they have that in NYS?

    I'm a cashier at a Wal-Mart in California...

Wal-mart policy is not to question the customer on pricing if the difference is under $10. As the price was over that amount then the cashier would need to do a price check at the shelf.

The best thing for you is to go back and speak to a CSS (Customer service supervisor) or a CSM (CS Manager). Explain the issue, they might want to walk with you to where you saw the shelf price. They might also do a register price check...

There is a good chance that they will refund you the difference.

However, there is also a chance that you alerted the store to a price error and while you finished shopping the associates corrected the error.

A good idea might be to go back and find the associate that checked the price for you when it came up at the lower price. That person might remember you or the item and can vouch for the accuracy of your statement.

Where in NY? NYC has a law covering this, so do many Counties in NY.

In my City the store has to give you the item at the marked/advertised price UNLESS that price is visibly "unfair." There is a difference between a price marked directly on the item and a sign posted at the store. The item must be marked.

So - where did this happen in NY?

Are you and Ericssonguy the same person using two different screen names? I can't help but notice the similarities in your lives.

Judy, No we are not the same person... Ericssonguy is a friend of mine, we work at the same place and he lives close by, but no, we are not the same person. A Mod/Admin has asked me the same question. :)
