Hi, I my first day of my last periods was 7th August 2011 and I did a home pregnancy test end of August and it was positive, accordingly I would be almost 9 weeks pregnant, however to my dismay yesterday I spotted some blood and I rushed to see a doctor, I was advised to do an ultra sound and it showed that there was a gestational sac like structure , there was no fetal node or yolk sac and . Could I have lost my pregnancy? According to the scan I was 4.5 weeks, I have been advised to do a rescan after 2 weeks for viability.

Difficult to say! Which is why you've been asked to have another scan in two weeks.

You are only 4.5 weeks,according to the scan,so... just maybe.. it could be so tiny and hidden,that you just wouldn't pick it up yet.

The fact that you were spotting is a little concerning, although not unusual.
I think you do have to be realistic though.I will keep my fingers crossed and wish you luck.
